What’s The Best Way To Plan For An Event?

Perfect Entertainment

Start off with a clear goal in mind regarding the number of people you’ll have, the type of friends and family that will be attending, and how you want to entertain them throughout the evening.

It’s always struck me as odd that even though entertainment plays such a dominant part of any event, it’s often the last planned, is allocated the least amount of time to plan, and often given the smallest budget.

Give yourself plenty of time

But never stress! Entertainment, if appropriately booked well in advance, can cater to changes and requests in very short periods of time.

For receptions, we would recommend aiming to book 3-6 months in advance (longer if your event is being held during a peak period – Spring or early Autumn) and from there aiming to do your planning for the entertainment 2 months out, and looking to finalise all aspects of music a month out.

Remember, we’re here to help

If you need any suggestions in the order of events for the night, or the styles of music that should be played to a type of crowd, please don’t hesitate to ask.

If you’re holding a party, given the short lead in times, grab our music list off our Functions page, and select some songs that you would like to dance to.

Given the limited contact you have with your DJ before a party, giving the DJ a heads up in what kind of music requests to expect is also advisable. This can be done as the DJ is setting up, or via phone/email when you book.

Feel free to contact us to discuss your DJ requirements.
